In honor of World Cat Day 2009, Confucius Cat offers this original poem: ODE TO THE VILE VIAL
Oh vile vial, noxious ampule.
Once a month, over you I must duel.
You may keep the fleas at bay and other pests in check,
But expect you no fight to keep the goop from my neck?
I run and I hide.
Giving in would destroy my pride.
But I can’t get away,
The human says this is the day.
Oh vile vial. Defeat has spoiled my glorious fur, though tis temporary.
My vow is to win next time, so you had better be wary.

I so struggle with the same...... and the neck as well, it is soo difficult to wash there!

The vile vial no bother us dawgs like it does you kittehs. Mebbe coz we no minds getting wet and kittehs say "ACK! ACK!" over wets. But I say better the vile vial than the nastee icky flea buggies - ACK!

I'll have to tell spookie and Jack about your poem, because they have just recently experience the vile vial, and must endure it once again very soon. Though both stay indoors, those fleas manage to get to them, and then those two kitties scatch their necks so hard that they pull fur out, and right now, Jack has a sore…but it is not yet time for the vile vial, I have to wait another week at the very least. I'll comb him just to make sure. Jack is FIV+, so I have to make sure he's always in the best of health.
